Suprascriptio in Typendruck „IN | EFFIGIEM | D[omi]n[i] MICHAELIS SAXONIS | Pastoris VVechmar[iensis]:“, unter dem Kupferstich 8 distich. lat. Verse in Typendruck: Hîc faciem cernis MICHAELIS SAXONIS; ejus / Pingere sed dotes non potis ulla manus[.] / Si tamen ingenium Pastoris cernere docti / Expetis, illius publica scripta legas. / Sena bis huic aderant lustra, anno deficiente / Picta seni [recte: senis?] postquam talis imago foret. / Amplius ut numeret plures feliciter annos / In vita; voti summa sit ista mei. (Hier siehst du Michael Sachses Antlitz, doch seine [Geistes]gaben abzubilden ist keine Hand imstande. | Verlangst du dennoch dir ein Bild vom Geist des gelehrten Gottesmannes zu machen, so lies seine veröffentlichten Schriften. | Zweimal sechs Lustren [= 60 Jahre] besaß er schon, als am Ende des [60.] Jahres dieses Bildnis des Greises gemacht wurde. | Daß er weiterhin noch viele glückliche Jahre in seinem Leben zählen möge: das sei mein heißester Wunsch für ihn)."
