Sept. | Denat[us] Hall: Anno | 1730. d[ie] 13. Sept.“ – Das Porträt wird getragen von r. stehendem Chronos, dessen die Sense haltende l. Hand auf der abgehobenen Grabplatte ruht; o. r. Darstellung der Weinbergszene (Matth. 20,1-16); u. M. am offenen Grabe ein trauernder Putto („Sehnsucht“); l. sitzend u. auf den Dargestellten weisend Justitia, zu ihren Füßen Totenschädel u. umgestürztes Öllämpchen. – Auf der Grabplatte 8 dt. Verse: Da stehet Erpels Bild, das die bemühte Zeit / Mit Eyfer=voller Lust und edler Zärtlichkeit / Nach seinem Tode noch zum Angedenken liebet / Auf ihren Schultern tragt u. uns zum Spiegel giebet. / Der Weinberg stellt den Fleiss des treuen Erpels vor, / Und die Gerechtigkeit hebt hier das Haupt empor / Uns dessen Gnaden Lohn im Himmel anzusagen: / Was will die Sehnsucht noch bey seinem Grabe klagen."
