Ovalumschrift „VIR ADMODUM REVERENDUS, CLARISSIMus ATQ[ue] EXCELLENTISSIMus D[omi]Nus GEORGIUS GOEZIUS, SS.[= Sacrosanctae] THEOL[ogiae] D[octorand]us[?,] IN ACADEMIA JENENSI OLIM PROF[essor] PUB[licus] CELEBERRIMus, NUNC ECCLESIAE PRAEDICATORUM APUD ERFURTENSES EVANGELICAE PASTOR EXOPTATISSImus.“ In den Ecken 4 o./u. jeweils korrespondierende Emblemata. o. l. „Spissis velata tenebris“ (Von dichten Finsternissen verhüllt …) [Schiff im Gewitter], o. r. „Lux gratior exit“ (… kommt das Licht desto willkommener heraus) [Schiff unter heiterem Himmel], u. l. „Discutit invidiae nebulas“ (Sie zerstreut die Wolken des Neides) [Sonne, Wolken vertreibend], u. r. „Accendit Lumine flammas“ (sie entzündet mit ihrem Licht Flammen) [Sonne, trockenes Holz entzündend]. – Unter dem Oval große Kartusche mit Bibeldevise (Prov. 18,12) in hebr. Schrift u. darunter 4 lat. distich. Versen mit lat. Widmung der Predigerkirchengemeinde in Erfurt „In intimi affectûs pietatis et observantiae | monumentum | erga Pastorem et Antistitem suum ut vigilantissimum | ita fidelissimum | statuebat hoc | Curae Ipsius deditissimus Coetus | Anno 1673“: Arcem Pansophiae, vel qveîs Prudentia cernit / Lumina, Suadelae hinc Ora, Cor Eusebies, / Hôc GOEZI vultu coelum sculpsisse laboras? / Tullius haud dignè haec scribat et ipse Maro. (Den Sitz umfassender Weisheit bzw. Augen, aus denen die Klugheit blickt, einen Mund voll süßer Rede, ein Herz voller Frömmigkeit, | kurz den Himmel bemühst du dich in diesem Antlitz Götzens abzubilden? Ciceros und selbst Vergils Feder könnte dies nicht angemessen tun.)"
