Verse mit Widmung „In honorem Viri Exc[ellentissimi] cum aegrè pateretur | aeri se insculpi [… da er es nur mit Mühe duldete, sich in Kupfer stechen zu lassen], scrips[it]“ von Johann Albert Gebhardi, Rektor in Braunschweig: En faciem, qvam sola videt, qva sola beatur / Hactenus, egregio CELLA beata Viro. / Non tulit hoc sculptor: Qvi TE dudum audiit orbis, / Cernat, ait, vultus nunc HOSEMANNE, Tuos. / Qvam bene! nam tantam CELLA haut capit unica lucem, / Par erit, ut tota luceat illa domo. [daneben: Matth. V.15] (Seht hier ein Gesicht, das bisher das mit dem vorzüglichen Mann beglückte CELLE allein sieht, durch das es allein beglückt wird. | Dies ertrug der Kupferstecher nicht. „Die Welt, die längst von dir gehört hat“, sagt er, „soll nun auch deine Züge sehen!“ | Wie richtig! Denn eine einzige Zelle [Wortspiel Cella/cella] faßt nicht ein solches Licht; es wird daher angemessen sein,, daß es im ganzen Hause leuchte)."
