L. von Hamburg, als er vor genau neun Jahren [1652] das erste Buch seiner Hamburgischen Geschichte herausgab]: Tot Patriae monumenta tuae dum prisca recludis / Altaq[ue] doctiloquâ pulpita voce reples: / Dum juvenis superas morum gravitate Catonem, / Et Pico ingenium te probat esse parem: / Dum loqueris, dum multa legis, dum plurima condis, / Cunctaq[ue] dum peragis, quâ decet arte senem: / Grandia qui nostri quaerit miracula secli / Cernere te viso, nil petat ulterius.
